The Leslie Johnson Activities Centre

Guidelines / Important Information

Please be aware that the Centre is a listed building and unfortunately is currently unable to be adapted for access by wheelchair users or for easy access for those with limited mobility.

The Centre currently has beds to accommodate up to 31 people. 26 in bunk beds, 3 in single beds and 2 on fold out beds

There are some spare pillows available, however please bring your own bedding including duvet/sleeping bag

Once we have recieved your booking, we will get in touch to handle payment. This can be done in installments.

An invoice will be provided.

There is an electric meter in the centre which takes £1 and £2 coins, please remember to bring some with you.


Any damage that occurs to the building or the equipment during your stay should be reported by email to info@ljohnson-centre.co.uk. You may be charged for any damage caused.

Please record all incidents in the Accident Book at the Centre as well as recording it in your own documentation. The Accident Book is kept behind the door in the kitchen

Please make sure that ALL LIGHTS are switched OFF and that the heating is set to 15 before you leave the Centre.

Please put all rubbish, including food no longer required, in the large bin outside.

Please leave the Centre clean and tidy in all rooms when you leave.

Please vacate the Centre before 11am on the last day of your booking.

In line with current legislation, it is illegal for anyone to smoke inside the Centre. The responsibility for any damage caused, as a result of people smoking inside the Centre, lies solely with the group leader.

There are smoke detectors in all rooms.

The Leslie Johnson Centre is set in the beautiful Peak District National Park, therefore please be respectful of your surroundings and neighbours by keeping dogs under control at all times and also keeping noise levels to a minimum, especially outside.

Please be advised that fire regulations at the Centre do not allow for any more than 58 persons to be in attendance within the Centre. Should this figure be exceeded, any resulting incidents / compensation claims etc will be the sole responsibility of the person responsible for the group in residence.

FIREWORKS - due to the proximity of the Centre to local residents and farm animals, the letting off of fireworks is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
